Testimonial from Caroline...
What led you to to doing the detox?
I had finally felt, in my early 50s, that my "bad" habits had become daily habits that were hard to break and were causing me not to feel my best. Also, there is a history of cancer in my family and I want to take as many preventative measures as I can, including eliminating toxins from my diet.
What are the biggest changes you’ve experienced as a result of doing the detox?
I experienced many positive effects from the PaleoCleanse. I am sleeping much better, feel calmer, and have lost that horrible bloated feeling. I had a chronic pain in my lower back that is miraculously gone. I shed the extra pounds I had been carrying around for a long time which I could not seem to lose no matter what I tried. And those bad habits are no longer an issue as I have replaced them with new, healthy habits. It is a great feeling to know you have taken control of yourself and your health.
What did you enjoy?
I enjoyed the simplicity of replacing meals with the shakes, and then looking forward to my one amazing meal each day. I treated myself to very high quality, delicious whole foods. The appreciation for that one meal per day is something that I will hold on to because that is how we should eat always - while being mindful and grateful -- and a little bit hungry -- savoring each flavor and enjoying every bite.
If a friend were thinking of doing the detox what would you tell them?
I would say, go for it. There is no reason not to take a break from what we normally, mindlessly do and eat. Detoxing is just a nice thing you can do for your body. Your organs feel clean and rested, and you feel happier. It refreshes your relationship with food, and teaches you better eating practices, which we need to be reminded of every now and again.
