Chiropractic is an Essential Part of an Active Lifestyle

An important part of a healthy lifestyle is participating in outdoor physical activities. Regular chiropractic care can help prevent many common injuries which may occur as a result of too many hours on the golf course, ball field or from hours of play in camp.

Many professional athletes receive regular chiropractic care to improve their health, prevent injuries and to get an edge over their competitors. Chiropractic adjustments help to improve the overall function of the nervous system, which, in turn, improves the efficiency of the communication between the brain and the body.

Even the most novice athlete can benefit from chiropractic care. Increased physical activity is great for overall physical fitness, but it does put added stress on our spine. Children for example, fall quite frequently while engaging in physical activity; while learning to ride a bike, playing soccer or sliding into first base. The jolt or sudden impact from falling can cause areas in their spines to become subluxated. A subluxation is a condition in one’s spine where the vertebrae lose their proper alignment with one another and ideal biomechanics does not occur. As a result, pressure is put on the nerves as they exit from the spine and decrease the nerves’ ability to transmit 100% output from the brain to the rest of the body.
